Ocean's 12 - Reality meets fiction

At Scopello, fiction and reality merged briefly in the past few days (as well as paparazzi and the locals) - the local police got worried because known elements of the local 'mafia' family where seen lingering around the area of the film set. Knowning how Catherine Zeta-Jones can often get touchy with her privacy (in the UK one well known gossip rag had to form out one million pounds for pictures of her eating a cake) the police decided to act swiftly and offer protection to the set. On a more serious note the mafia gang's of the area have been known to ask their usual 'protection' fee even from film directors - this time I don't think they will get their way. However, a note of advice to the producers of the film - the other side of sicily ('our' side) is much more quiet in terms of mafia activity (the region of Ragusa is often called la regione babba (the foolish region) precisely because the locals are not involved in the usual scams. On the other hand it is also the most prosperous so the rest should stop laughing and perhaps learn a lesson or two.
