About the House

With amazing views of Modica, a large and comfortable kitchen, living area and lovingly restored rooms the Cookery School offers an ideal space to enjoy creating food.

Our cookery school is a wonderful house in the historical centre of Modica. It was restored to its original 1930s feel, when Katia's grandparents bought it, but the building dates back to the 17th century. It has an elegant living space and a spacious kitchen, both with domed ceilings and direct access to the terrace, which offers spectacular views of Modica's baroque Saint George Cathedral.

Rooms & Facilities

The Cookery School has three double rooms - each one with its own unique flavour. So unique that we actually gave each one its own name - Cannella, Peperoncino and Vaniglia.

The rooms are all en-suite with air-conditioning, heating and a flat-screen LCD TV. Two of the rooms (Vaniglia and Peperoncino) can accommodate for two single beds each rather than a double bed. There is wireless Internet access throughout the house.

Location

The loveSicily Cookery School is located right in the centre of Modica, some 80 steps up from the 'corso', Corso Umberto I,  crossing the historical centre. Shops, bars and restaurants as well as the main sites of Modica are within easy reach.

Please note that Modica develops up the slopes of a Valley and steps are hard to avoid. If you feel that this may be a concern please get in touch for advice.

The school is about 20km from the sea and 113km from the airport of Catania.
