Ocean's 12 - Media Hype

A few weeks ago we mentioned, in jest the commotion caused when the crew of Ocean'12 came to Sicily, Scopello to film a few scenes. It is so tragically comic to see how the media have treated the same story. Some (e.g. here) have gone as far as saying that a recent spate of arrests in the area was a direct result of the film. The story even made it to the Guardian. I would think that the Guardian should have something better to waste its paper on...

But how arrogant can people get and how careless! Those arrests were a result of a very determined campaign by a lot of people that are trying to rid Sicily of the problem of extortion and had practically nothing to do with Ocean's 12. It does have a lot to do with the lives of many normal people that fight every day for their living. In fact the director of the movie had the decency of clearing up the facts.
